Yeah, yeah. You heard me. Late. Tough.
Five Wishes for Christmas
1. Stability in my life.
I've moved around a lot in my life. I've lived in five different cities since 2000. But I have reason to believe things are going to change in 2008. For the first time, I finally really feel settled somewhere, and I have no intention of leaving. Ray is happy in his work, we're comfortable in our little house, and I don't see us going anywhere. So, here's wishing for a stable, uneventful year to come.
2. A healthy baby.
I have no indications that she will be anything but a healthy baby, but I am the worrying type, and we still have a few more months to go. Anything could happen. And it probably won't. But here's wishing for a healthy baby girl, anyway.
3. World Peace
Yeah, it's a cliche. Doesn't mean I can't wish for it.
4. That Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons would stop coming to my door on Saturday mornings.
I know y'all are doing what you think is best, really, but you're not going to change my views on religion. I can stand at my door and argue theology all day with you, but neither of us will be happy. So, this holiday season, how about a little Peace on My Doorstep?
Not really. I've just always wanted to say that. Of course, if you've never seen a Christmas Story, you won't get that. "You'll shoot your eye out!"
And here's also wishing all of you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I hope all your wishes come true (except the World Peace one, that would put too many people out of work).
The thing that gets me about the Mormans and the Witnesses is that they aren't even trying to save your soul, it's just that they have to do it in order to save their souls.
As for the BB gun, my brother was about a quarter of an inch away from taking my eye out with one. He got me in the cheek, and is stung like shit!
merry christmas, jen! i hope you get everything except the gun.
ho ho ho
I'm with you all the way through.
Although we don't get many Mormons here in Liberal Collegeville.
Now Wiccans and Vegans...
And a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too!
To Jen and Family,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
from WT and Family
My five wishes would be, for the most part, quite mushy.
1) I'd wish for one more day with Dad. Just to hang out, play cards, have a beer, etc. Christmas is always a rough time 'cause Dad loved Christmas and spoiling my sister and I till we were almost rotten. (note I said almost)
2) I'd wish my best friend lived a little closer. As lovely as it is to go away on a vacation to visit her... sometimes there's just not enough time in a week. (Yes, Jen, that's for you.)
3) I'd wish that no one would ever harm another animal. Ever. Since 6 of my 8 animals are rescues, I can see how harmful and hurtful people can be. (Yes, it's sappy, but deal with it - it's my five!)
4) I'd wish that I could have enough money to financially adopt my sponsor child and her family. She lives in Ethiopia with her mom, and I'd love to be able to make sure that she is set for life - she's great in school - loves to draw (I have pictures to prove it!) so seeing her make something of her life would be amazing.
5) I'd wish for an E-Z bake oven. Not that I don't have a great oven of my own, I just always wanted one.
Love your 5 and like willowtree I hope they all come true.
Have a wonderful, wonderful holiday, we miss you and love you!
Have a beautiful Christmas, Jen, and a wish-fulfilling New Year.
Merry Christmas from Mom, Dad, Maggie, Molly, Ozzie, Arnie......
We miss all of you and love you.
Dear Jen, Ray, TFYO and baby J bump.
Have a wonderful, healthy and happy Christmas, and a wonderful 2008.
Hugs from all the Beaufoixs. xx
Merry Christmas, Jen, Ray, TFYO, and Baby J.
Ha ha. What's Christmas without A CHRISTMAS STORY? "No! No! I want an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle!"
May all your Christmas wishes come true. Here's wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year!
Mike
Merry Christmas Jen, I hope that your wishes come true.
Good luck on #3 and #4 being within the scope of reality. But I'm on your side.
Forget #5. You'd shoot your eye out.
Happy holidays to all!
A very belated but very happy Christmas to all of you.
Now, if you had the BB gun, you could always store it by the door, handy for the evangelists of a Saturday morning. Maybe Santa will bring it next year.
Merry Christmas Jen! Those are 5 good wishes except for #4. If you see them coming (and WHO doesn't; they are always dressed in their 'church best' and the little pamphlets are clutched in their hand) just keep the door closed. Usually they give up and
leave their propaganda at the door. #3 is worth repeating over and over until somehow we get it right. Since #5 is not in agreement with #3 I am relieved you said "not really"
My Five would be:
1. Continued good health for my family.
2. That our government spend less money on defense and more on education (another pipe dream)
3. That my daughter stays safe
(You know that 'mama worry wart' business; it doesn't go away) Considering that she plans on doing an quarter abroad in Tunisia this is a good wish.
4. To give and receive more smiles
than frowns
5. For patience.
