So tired, tired of waiting...

...taking the advice of Willowtree and Dumdad. I do love the Kinks, and Ray Davies's writing is so under-appreciated.

I had another doctor's appointment today, and since I'm writing, I'm pretty sure you can guess what happened.

Not a damned thing.

I'm now at 2.5 centimetres. Whoopee. My doctor's advice? Don't sweat it, and try walking.

Easy for him to say. It's not like he's trying to walk with a bowling ball hanging down to his knees. Not as far as I know, anyway.

I have been in a bit of a cleaning fit, lately. I've been vacuuming lamp shades and drapes, reorganizing books and DVDs. I halfway thought about baking a pie, but I can't decide what kind I want. Right now, it's a toss up between canned cherries and fresh blackberries, which are just coming into the stores. I don't think I can afford the blackberries, though. I'm hoping all this nesting activity means that labour will come soon. Of course, it could just mean I'm bored sitting around the house.

So in the meantime, we continue to wait, and ponder pie...

Why choose? Make them both! If you can't eat it all send some to the station with Ray. If he doesn't want to take them to work, I'll be over as soon as I can and I'll bring vanilla ice cream.

Warm blackberry cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream was one of my favorite indulgences while pregnant. Yum.

Those last weeks seem to take months, don't they?

You're absolutely right about Ray Davies being under-valued. He's written some great songs: Lola, days, Apeman etc etc.

Keep making pies and listening to the Kinks until.....

We love the Kinks at Chez Beaufoix Jen. They have a song for everything. Little baby J will come along when she is good an ready. (This coming from a woman who had to wait an extra two weeks for both of hers and then get induced as well. Bugger.)
It does sound like you're nesting, and keeping busy is the best thing. I hope you're managing to rest as well though. It always amazes me how little sleep yo get in these last few weeks as it's so hard to get comfy.

Have you tried Raspberry Leaf Tea, Curry, sex, long walks and nipple tweaking?? They're all meant to help.

Hugs. ;)

Steady on Jo! Don't listen to her Jen, you'll wear yourself out with all the effort! I tried raspberry leaf tea too - although Sprog was still very late...Pineapple is supposed to help them along their way. How about pineapple pie? Keep smiling, she'll come soon enough.

Lavender oil?

Worked for me. Poured it into a bath and whammo. Insta-labor.

Of course I think I was about fifty weeks pregnant at the time.

Jen,
I have been preoccupied lately and thought I would come over to your place for some news. And apparently there isn't any! (Other than like me, you love Ray Davies). I know you must be getting frustrated but keep your chin up. I like Kaycie's suggestion, ice cream and lots of it.
All the best.

And my iPod just started playing the Beatles' Boy, You're Going to Carry That Weight a Long Time. Sorry. I burst out laughing.

OK. I'll stop now.
