Somethin' that you said burnin' in my head

Lyric courtesy of Alice Cooper, "I'm So Angry"

And I'm not particularly angry today, really, but I've been tagged for a meme about things that annoy, provoke, anger, perturb and bother you. (Why, yes, I have recently bought a thesaurus!)

I was tagged for a "Moaning Meme" by mjd over at Return of the White Robin. Go over and see her if you haven't yet, she always has the coolest pictures.

4 things that should go into Room 101 (see Orwell's 1984) and be removed from the face of the earth.

  1. Poverty

  2. Bigotry

  3. Okra

  4. Crappy drivers

3 things people do that make you want to shake them violently.

  1. Animal cruelty

  2. Serving me okra

  3. Child abuse

2 things you find yourself moaning about.

  1. Okra

  2. These rotten kids today, with their loud music, and their strange ways

1 thing the above answers tell you about yourself

  1. That I obviously hate okra, and that I didn't take this very seriously. (Oops, that's two, I don't follow directions, either.)

I'm not going to tag anyone specifically here, because half of the people that read are on vacation! So, if you stop by, you can leave a list in the comments section if you so desire....

RULES

• Link to the original meme at freelancecynic.com!

• Be as honest as possible so people get to know the real you!

• Try not to insult anyone - unless they really deserve it or are very, very ugly!

• Post these rules at the end of every meme.

And now, I'm off to work afternoon drive for two different people this week. Today, our "Top 40/Hot AC" station, where I get to talk to lots of 12-year-olds who want to do "shout-outs" to their friends.

Okra's like water down there isn't it? I mean, you can't really escape it. Truth be told, I don't think I've ever eaten it because it just doesn't look like a vegetable I'd like to try. I don't like most vegetables to begin with.

Being raised in the midwest, my only exposure to okra was at a Furr's cafeteria, where all you could hear was the mushy sucking sound of octogenarians pulling overcooked okra through their dentures. That was terrifying enough to scare me off it for life.

(by the by - thanks for the award and all, Jen. Sorry I've been AWOL for so long.)

Okra has a bad rap by people who do not know how to cook it properly boiling it into a congealed mass and saying, "Try this it is a southern dish!"
Well so is hog jowls and pig trotters but you ain't gonna see it in the center of my table!

In a hat tip to Harry Potter, here is my howler...
4 things for room 101:
bad healthcare
bad drivers
bigotry
bad comb overs

3 things people do:
try to comb over a bald head
abuse of any kind
talking too loud on a cellphone in public

2 things:
comb overs
and yes, I agree. These disrespectful youngsters with their baggy pants, cell phones and their 23 skiddo.

1 thing the above answers show about me:
I hate Donald Trump.
1 more thing I am getting to be as irascible as an old person. EEK!

Guess I didn't take it too serious either. I don't hate Donald Trump, just that dead beaver on his head.

Very funny Jen, I do not like okra either. I have heard that saying about not knowing how to cook the vegetable, but I do not believe it. And besides that, I am not going to learn. I like using a thesaurus and would like a software version.

Here is a final thought; since both the bigots and the okra are in Room 101. The bigots will have to eat okra for eternity.

I've had okra fried, boiled and in gumbo. About the only way I can eat it is in gumbo. Frankly, I don't care how it's cooked, I still can't get my head around this slimy little pod-thing. My husband loves okra, though.

And mjd, that is a nice thought, bigots having to eat boiled okra for all eternity.

And saphyre rose, I'd rather eat hog jowls than okra anyday. At least, if they're cooked right. I mean, they're mostly pork fat anyway.
