Wake and find you're covered in cellophane...

That lyric has nothing to do with anything. I just like it. I'll send a prize to the first person who can name the song and artist correctly in the comment section (but you'll have to e-mail me your address). It's not much of a prize but you can say you got something from me!

Speaking of prizes:

Jo Beaufoix has given me an award!!!

"The Thoughtful Blogger Award is one of five distinct awards in a series of awards created by Writers Reviews' intuitive, creative and most thoughtful blogger herself, Christy Zutautas. There is a specific description for each award listed here along with the award rules. Writers Reviews has created a way to honour the bloggers we admire in a personable way on an individual basis, that frees us to celebrate each blogs unique contribution.”

Or so it says on Jo's blog. I've never won an award for blogging before, and I feel honoured.

My task is now to give out five awards as well.

So, without further adieu...

mjd at Return of the White Robin gets a :

jrh at Turkey on Whole Wheat also gets a:

Robot Lord of Tokyo at 10001110101 gets a:

(They didn't have a smart ass award, sorry!)

Saphyre Rose at Sun and Moon Sorcery gets a:

Because she kicks ass.

And nate over at shut the kids up. gets a:

because his art is some of the most creative stuff I've seen.

There's my five, oh, and Jo also tagged me for a meme, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow! Sorry!

Forgot to ask - did you get the cats? A dog? Or did you leave the shelter empty handed?

Didn't you just go and see Genesis?
Or is that tonight.
Can't wait to go and see who you've passed your awards on to

And as Bellevelma says, any pets yet?

Yeah - what they said!! I want to know if I have a new neice or nephew!

I am so honored, thank you.

As for pound puppies, (anyone remember those stuffed animals?) we bought a dog who was 6 weeks old at the time. She was a back lab mix. I bought her when my son was about 7 figuring they would grow up together and they did.
My son was in the Navy when Duchess died, she was 14 years old.
When he left for the Navy, Duchess became my dog. She was my faithful companion. I took her every where I went. Toward her later years, I had to lift her into the back of our Jeep so we could go off roading on the beach together. Even at 12 years old, she would see the ocean and get so excited. She would run down to the water and look back at me like, "Well, throw me something!"
We, I loved her very much and still feel her loss.
Good dogs can come from the pound. Just ask us.

Okay, bellevelma, you need to e-mail me your address so I can send you a cheap radio station t-shirt or coffee mug. Or it might be a bumper sticker depending on what I can sneak out of the prize closet. You win!

I want so badly to see Genesis, but they haven't added any venues in the southeast yet. *sigh*

As for animals, we've put in our application for two cats, who are sisters, Zoe and Chloe. They are four years old, and you can find their pictures at the Savannah Humane society website, linked in that previous post. They said our application would be approved in a couple of days. We should hear something by Monday.

Saphyre Rose, you deserve much more than just a little blog award. You really do kick ass in so many ways, and I'm honoured that you read my blog.

And for the record, every animal I've lived with has been a stray or a shelter animal. I'm a sucker for the lost and lonely...ask my husband!

One with four legs was not a stray or shelter animal. He was large and grey and you tried arguing with him that you were superior and would always win because you had opposable thumbs. He felt he was superior because he had opposable teeth and could bite off your opposable thumbs. (Just for the record, of course)

Jen, it was Englishmum who went to see Genesis. I think I had brain freeze yesterday.
She'll probably blog about it today.
Derrr.

Zoe and Chloe look so cute.
I'm so jealous. My old cat Myron came from the Cat's Protection League and I'd love another now he's gone, but my brother has a serious allergy to them that has worsened with age so we can't get another.

We'll have a dog one day when the girls are bigger but for now I just have to get gerbil cuddles which aren't the same.

Hope you get to bring them home soon.

Well, I'm thoroughly astonished and grateful for the award! And coming from you means something because I happen to think you're one of the most "thoughtful bloggers" I've ever come across. Many thanks, my friend!!
