Doctor, Doctor, Gimme the news.

With much thanks to the late, great Robert Palmer for that one.

So, quick update on yesterday. We love Dr. G. Dr. G has guinea pigs, which completely won over TFYO. Oh, and TFYO is just as we suspected. I was told she is brilliant, incredibly bright, and probably has a very mild autism spectrum disorder, but nothing at the moment that warrants pulling her out of a classroom in which she appears to be thriving. I am relieved. And I now have someone to go to bat for me if the county school system decided to interfere. Dr. G says TFYO has a few quirks, which may need more attention as she gets older, but that compared to other Aspie kids she treats, this is really nothing to get worked up over. I'll have a full written report (with IQ scores, Asperger Diagnostic Scores, etc.) in a couple of weeks. Did y'all hear my big sigh of relief all across the world yesterday?

Also, I have my first OBGYN appointment today. And I'm also scheduled for my first ultrasound. I'm still getting sick several times a day. So far, well meaning people have told me this means: I'm having a boy; I'm having another girl; I'm having twins; or I had too much Mexican food last night.

One of those.

I am a little nervous. The first ultrasound is where you get to see if your little jelly bean is normal. So, of course I've been having bizarre nightmares (which come with being pregnant anyway). I've dreamed the baby has two heads. I've dreamed the baby has my head, staring out at me from the ultrasound. I've dreamed I was pregnant with a cat, which may have been because a cat was standing on me at that moment, trying to get me out of bed to feed it.

So, by the end of the day today, I'll know. And I'll have pictures to prove it's not a cat. Although, those first pictures usually look more like a tadpole.

Too put your mind at ease, when I was pregnant with the twins, I rarely got sick. I'd put my money on the Mexican food.

I'm so glad everything went well for you yesterday!!!
Although I never had morning sickness, I hear it goes away after the 3rd month. That second trimester will be something to look forward to.
Will you post pics of the jelly bean?

When I was pregnant with Snags, I thought he looked like a duck in his early ultrasound pictures.

Yay on yesterday! See, all us faithful readers knew TFYO was just fine.

Make sure to get copies of the doctor's report printed on extra heavy card stock so it doesn't crumple as easily when you shove it up the school pyshcologists...

And my sincerest apologies to anyone I may have offended with my vulgar statement above ;)

I did hear the sigh of relief actually, but thought one of the dogs had gotten into the bean dip again.

Yay. And yay again. Not only did you get good news, but you have a good person in your corner to fight for you.

Good luck with the ultrasound. We'll be thinking of you in a paper gown. It will be fine...

Let's see. The choices are:

A - a boy
B - a girl
C - twins
D - Mexican food

You forgot "E - ALL OF THE ABOVE!"

Just another fathers observation. (admitably a strange one but thats Dad)

I am really glad things went well with Dr. G yesterday!

I love Dad's comment...only because it could be true!! Like leendaluu, I have twins, and the only time I got sick was when my mother came to visit and decided I wasn't drinking enough milk. Since I gag on milk, this was true. She concocted a milk and frozen strawberries drink and insisted I have it. I obeyed, and promptly got sick.

I wish you weren't getting sick so often - GOOD LUCK today! It is so exciting!!

I think it's either a boy or a girl or both. Maybe a kitten, but that'd mean you wouldn't have to send it to college.

Wonderful about TFYO and a big, fat raspberry to that school psychologist.

Good luck with the ultrasound.

Incidentally, David Tennant is probably my second least favourite Doctor, Patrick Troughton being my least favourite. But no-one has ever been as good as William Hartnell.

I hope that you feel better soon. Armed with your medical diagnosis and the fact that TFYO is brillant, there should be no problem with your daughter staying in the classroom. Take care.

Great result for TFYO!
Loved Bellevellma's comment about where to stick the report.

Best of luck for the ultrasound appointment - you haven't mentioned the possibilty of triplets, quadruplets or even quintuplets...
Take care.

Willowtree I like David Tennant, as he brings a certian something to the role, but I grew up watching Tom Baker, so he'll always be my favourite. I always wanted one of those scarves.
